Windy weather warning

We have been reliably informed by both the Shanghai Daily and BBC World that a typhoon is on its way, and is due to arrive in Shanghai just after breakfast tomorrow morning. Apparently, there will be winds of 200kph and widespread flooding. Never before having encountered anything stronger than a stiff breeze, we are not entirely sure how to prepare for this. We have brought in the parasol from the roof garden, put the paddling pool in the garage and charged up the video camera. I'm not sure quite what will happen to the houses up the road that are made out of planks of wood and leaves.
